A family run Country House with a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, within Dartmoor National Park, an area of outstanding natural beauty. Lydford House has been welcoming guests for over 100 years and was built by the celebrated artist William Widgery (1822-1893), standing in 8 acres of delightful gardens and pastureland in the historic village of Lydford close to the Devon/Cornwall border.
The house is surrounded by extensive gardens and grounds where you can stroll and get to know some of our resident horses, hens, cats and goats or sit on the patio next to the ponds and relax to the sound of the waterfalls and enjoy a cream tea. There is a large private car park. On cooler evenings have a glass of wine or beer around the log fire in our elegant guest lounge and make friends with our friendly collie, Toby and red setter, Gypsy. Rooms are available at 4pm on the day of arrival and should be vacated at 11am on the day of departure. Well-behaved pets are welcome by prior arrangement at a small extra cost with dog baskets being available on request.
