Essentially a village pub, we have 13 en suite letting rooms, including Four Posters, a cosy bar area that is open all day and food available at lunchtime and in the evening, everything you need for that stress free getaway or business trip. For those wishing to sample the tranquility of the wonderful surrounding countryside, choose to walk the River Otter or the World Heritage site of The Jurassic Coast, both are right on our doorstep. A mile or so along The River Otter is The Otter Estuary Nature Reserve, a site of Scientific Interest '` a 23 hectare area of reed bed and grazing marsh full of all kinds of bird varieties. Overlooking the estuary you will find a bird hide where you can enjoy watching the birds that have escaped from colder winter climes, among them are wildfowl, waders, redshank, green shank, dunlin, common sandpiper, ringed plover, grey plover curlew and snipe. To name just a few. Carry on this walk and you reach the lovely seaside town of Budleigh Salterton where the estuary meets the sea. The coastal resorts of Sidmouth, famous for it's folk festival in early August, and Exmouth are just a short drive away. A 10 minute walk from the Pub you will find the private beach of Ladram Bay and 'The Stacks' which are, being part of the Jurassic Coast, well worth seeing.

Rooms Description

Whatever the reason for your stay we have a room to suit you, Doubles, Twins and Single Occupancy to Family rooms for 3 or 4 people and luxurious Four Posters, all rooms are well apointed and have en suite showers, remote control colour TV and tea & coffee making facilities. A travel cot can be provided in some rooms if required.We also have selected rooms suuitable for dog owners, (well behaved dogs only). Evening meals are available, if required, and all prices include Full English Breakfast. Many of our guests return again and again to sample the informal hospitality we offer and more and more business people are making the short trip from Exeter to stay in a more relaxed, informal atmosphere. We are sure you won't be disappointed.

The Kings Arms is open all day every day, serving a wide variety of traditional pub dishes, a good selection of vegetarian delights, sandwiches, daily specials and not forgetting the delicious desserts. All dishes are freshly prepared from the finest local produce wherever possible. Sunday carvery is a choice of two or three glorious traditional roasts, served with Yorkshire pudding and all the trimmings, a vegetarian carvery is available with prior notice.
