16th Century Inn Centrally Located Within The Two Moors Way. Fully Licensed Bar & Great Restaurant.

Situated on the Two Moors Way in the lovely village of Witheridge, the Mitre Inn, first built in the sixteenth century as a coach house, is now a Grade Two listed building situated midway between Dartmoor to the South, and Exmoor to the North. It has a warm and friendly atmosphere, and provides all year round Bed and Breakfast accommodation. As well as a full licensed bar serving an excellent selection of beers, wine and spirits, including local Real Ale, and a restaurant, there are also such facilities as Pool, Darts, and a skittles alley. Laundry facilities can be provided at a small charge for walkers of the Two Moors Way if required. The Mitre Inn offers a totally refurbished restaurant providing an excellent selection of dishes, with many of the dishes and deserts being homemade using locally sourced meat and vegetables. There is a Childrens menu available, and Food is also available as take-away for those people on the go!

Being located at the center of the region known as the Devon Heartland opens up an enormous range of activities for those who like to explore. The nearest attractions are based in and around the historic market town of Tiverton (11 miles), such as the Grand Western Horse Boat Company where visitors can ride on the canal-boats and meet the horses, and Bickleigh Mill, which is situated in a beautiful location upon the river Exe and has craft shops and farm animals to look at. Tiverton also has a museum and a 12th Century castle which offers the chance to see medieval architecture and civil war armoury, and a next-door church with exquisite stained glass windows.The Mitre Inn has four letting bedrooms, two double bedrooms, a further double bedroom with en-suite facilities, but with a shower only, and also one family bedroom with a double bed and two singles, and which is fully en-suite with a bath and a toilet. All of the rooms are clean and comfortable, and have recently been redecorated and equipped with modern furnishings.
