Farmhouse bed and breakfast dating back to the 15th Century in picturesque surroundings located in Great Torrington, North Devon. The character of this newly established farmhouse is apparent with a wealth of original features such as an inglenook fireplace, beamed ceilings and a wood-burning stove. This traditional farmhouse is set in eight and half acres of beautiful gardens. The stunning views over the valley to the sea and the sunsets are breathtaking and why not set the day off to a great start with a full traditional English breakfast cooked on an Aga, including free range eggs and local Devon produce.

Higher Darracott Farm is a perfect base for exploring Great Torrington set on an inland clifftop, just one and half miles away where many festivals and fairs are held. Great Torrington also features a large number of excellent places to eat and the nearby villages offer thatched medieval pubs serving excellent food and real ales. If you enjoy walking, the new Millennium Walk passes by the farm, a 20 mile circular walk which incorporates some of the 365 acres of commons around the town. There are many local historic towns to visit which include Barnstaple and Bideford, Clovelly and Appledore and just a short drive away are Adventure Parks such as The Milky Way and The Big Sheep for children.

Higher Darracott offers light and spacious rooms, all of which overlook the rolling countryside. Each room includes a relaxing sitting area, a digital colour television, DVD player, hairdryer and a welcome tray with tea/coffee making facilities. Choose from the Oak Room or the Pine Room. Both rooms have luxury pillows and duvet.

Specialities

Newly opened Caravan Club CL Site for those with touring caravans are now also catered for with 5 electric hook up points and panoramic views across the countryside. Dinner can be pre-booked for you at local restaurants and pubs. As both bedrooms are located on the first floor, we are unable to accommodate guests who cannot manage stairs. No smoking throughout.
