This charming hotel and restaurant, close to the Dartmoor National Park, is hidden among the rolling farmland on the edge of the the tiny hamlet of Ottery. Perfectly located for days out to the surrounding countryside of Devon and Cornwall we are also close by to the outstanding natural beauty of the Tamar Valley. A warm welcome awaits your arrival, plus excellent accommodation and superb meals and all in an informal atmosphere where our guests can sit and relax and enjoy the total peace and tranquility of the rural setting.

Originally built in 1856 for the Duke of Bedford, the building was lovingly renovated in 1989, yet keeping much of its original charm and character, preserving many of the old timber beams and the granite open fire in the lounge. In 1996 an adjoining property was purchased, giving the Coachouse a total of 12 beautiful bedrooms. The Coachouse has a restaurant and a hotel licence and two bars for use of the hotel and the restaurant patrons only. The restaurant has French doors opening onto a terrace which overlooks a small walled garden and pond. In the summer guests can enjoy Al Fresco dining on the terrace or the lawn.
