Nestled in the some of Devon's most breathtaking countryside, The Fox and Hounds Hotel offers guests a peaceful retreat. Enjoy a walk in the surrounding forest or join in with some of the best country sports in the UK. Enjoy a stroll down through our stunning gardens to the beautiful River Taw where otters can be seen and salmon are leaping. The area is abundant with wildlife, pheasants, owls, woodpeckers and even the odd roe deer! We cater for wedding functions, conferences and have an array of activities for our guests to join. We also offer special fishing breaks for those who enjoy fishing as a regular activity or those who are keen to learn.

The Fox and Hounds Hotel offers a range of amazing activities for everybody to enjoy. The hotel is famous for its rich history in trout and salmon fishing and we boast over 5 miles of fishing on the River Taw, plus we have concessions at a number of other local rivers. For those who prefer something a little more energetic there are a number of activities including riding, seasonal shooting, falconry, quad biking, walking and a number of great golf courses just a few minutes drive away. For something a little more relaxing, there are many peaceful gardens for you to visit including the RHS Rosemoor or why not take a ride on the famous Tarke Railway. A little further afield are the beautiful North Devon beaches, famous for its surfing! But for those who wish to enjoy Devon's finest Ales, the Fox and Hounds Country Hotel offers guests a 'Real Ale Trail', where you can visit the local inns along the railway. You will be given a special Rail Ale booklet where you will receive a stamp for every sample of local beer you try. There are 19 pubs/hotels in total, all with good quality beer! And if food is your thing you have come to the right place. We are passionate about food and prepare some delicious home made classics such as Steak and Kidney Pudding with hand cut chips. We also run a weekly 'Supper Club' where our chef will put together a delicious mouth watering 4 course meal of seasonal dishes.

We offer 15 individually decorated ensuite bedrooms including a luxury family suite with adjoining lounge area. Our spacious Superior Double rooms with four poster beds also have hairdryers, complimentary mineral water and toiletries, tea/coffee making facilities and a colour TV. One of rooms even has a friendly ghost!

We are licensed for civil and partnership weddings in our charming function suite. We ensure the focus is on you and your own wedding planner will ensure it will be a truly perfect, memorable day. Our chefs will prepare a delicious wedding menu in our stunning restaurant while you enjoy some fine bubbly on our terrace which overlooks our beautiful gardens. Give yourself a little pampering at our on-site Hair and Beauty Salon, with treatment room, with a team of fully trained hairdressers, beauticians and masseuses. We also provide the facilities for business meeting and conferences in our peaceful and hospitable surroundings. We have a newly refurbished conference room and can seat up to 100 people. We also offer you the full use of the conference equipment, and refreshments and meals can be included. Children and well behaved dogs welcome.
