The stunning Victorian Ansteys Lea Hotel was built in 1870, and takes it's name from Ansteys Cove, once a smuggler's haven, now a local beauty spot, and just a short wooded walk from the hotel. This charming former Victorian Gentlemen's Residence is set in its own delightful grounds of nearly one acre, just 1,500 metres from the harbour in a select part of Torquay. We're ideally situated between Torquay's Town Centre and Marina, and Babbacombe Downs with it's magnificent sea views. The nearby village has ample shops, banks and a Post Office and are just a level walk away. An excellent bus service is also available just outside the hotel.

Guests can enjoy traditional English home cooking in the restaurant with superb helpful service. Relax in the splendid Lounge or unwind over a drink in our delightful gardens or laze around on the sheltered sun terraces which surround our heated outdoor swimming pool. Ansteys oozes charm and character throughout. We prepare all our menus daily, using fresh local produce. To compliment your meal, we have an interesting and varied wine list to suit all tastes. The delightful surroundings of our beautiful Blue Dining Room provides the perfect setting for an enjoyable dining experience. All our pleasant and comfortable bedrooms have en-suite facilities and all are fully equipped with centrally heating, colour televisions and tea and coffe making facilities. Smoking rooms are available by request and dogs are welcome in ground floor rooms only. Many rooms have a superb view across the leafy Ilsham Valley to the sea.
