Coachman's Cottage overlooks the River Dart in the heart of Dartmoor National Park. The building was originally used as a coach house, stables and smokehouse and accommodates up to four people, ideally two adults and two children. There is direct access to the moor from the cottage and many attractive walks can be taken from here, including the Dartmoor Way and Two Moors Way. There are many outdoor activities that can be enjoyed out on the moors, including walking, riding, canoeing, angling and cycling. Letterboxing is a sport originated on Dartmoor and the famous letterboxes are hidden all over the moor. The aim of the game is to find one and sign the guest book and stamp your map or diary with the stamp provided!
At Coachman's Cottage the kitchen/dining room is located downstairs and is equipped with electric cooker, fridge with freezer compartment and microwave oven. Upstairs there is a comfortable lounge with corner sofa unit and two single futons. The main bedroom is also found on this floor and can be arranged as a double or twin room. The cottage is in an idyllic moorland location and as such the nearest general store is at Princetown, four miles away. Ashburton, a little further away, has a wide variety of shops providing food and other goods in addition to a petrol station.
