Idyllic secluded country house set in the beautiful, peaceful grounds of Highwell House. Recently refurbished to the highest standard they are comfortable and attractively furnished. At Highwell all our rooms are luxury twin or double with ensuites. Highwell is well situated for exploring the many attractions of the South Hams. The countryside is ideal for walking, whether through leafy lanes or via the network of footpaths. Nearby is the spectacular South Hams coastline with breathtaking views from the National Trust coastal path. The sandy beaches of Bantham and Thurlestone are two miles away

The two acres of garden contain many different flowering trees and shrubs, including over a hundred different camellias. The rhododendrons, azaleas, hardy fuchsias, roses and hydrangeas, together with many bulbs and perennials ensure that there is much to enjoy throughout the year. There is a path through a half-acre of woodland with far reaching views across the Avon valley to Dartmoor. Our friendly sheep and ponies graze the fields at a good distance from the house. The delicious full English Breakfast is served with fresh fruit in season, including strawberries and raspberries from the productive organic kitchen garden, homemade preserves and eggs from our free range hens. It is enjoyed in the conservatory overlooking the croquet lawn, wisteria arch and colourful garden. It is a very good spot for watching a variety of garden birds.
