Lower Hearson Farm is a working smallholding set in thirteen acres of gardens, field and woodland. Set in the heart of the North Devon countryside, it's perfect for a relaxing holiday with easy access to the beaches of the North Devon Coast and Barnstaple (5 miles away). Our five holiday cottages are surrounded by two acres of gardens making this a safe place for children. All these charming cottages are graded ETC 4 stars for quality. Lower Hearson Farm benefits from facilities including an outdoor covered, heated swimming pool, a games room with a pool table, table tennis table, table top football, darts, board games, videos/DVDs and books for your use. Guests also have access to a 2 acre garden, with a well equipped kids play area which includes a sandpit and trampoline. Fishing, golf, and horse riding are all available nearby. We accept well behaved dogs.

The cottages are ideal for both couples and families. The Treshing Barn & The Grain Store both sleep 4 guests, and are beautifully converted stone built old North Devon farm buildings. Each has a comfortable lounge/dining area with a wood burning stove, TV (Threshig Barn has Freeview), video, DVD player and mini Hi-Fi. Both have fully-fitted kitchens including electric hob and built in oven, washing machine, dishwasher, microwave and fridge freezer. Upstairs both have one double bedroom leading into one twin bedroom and a bathroom comprising bath, shower attachment, wc and wash basin. The properties are fully centrally heated. The Linhay sleeps 6 guests. She is converted from the farm's stables and Linhay with open beams. There is one double bedroom with en-suite shower and WC, two twin bedrooms and a family bathroom. The open plan sitting room dining area is equiped with TV, Freeview, Video & DVD player. The kitchen is fitted with built in oven and hob, dishwasher, washer/dryer and fridge freezer. The cottage is fully centrally heated. Across the drive is a private courtyard garden.

Rooms Description

The Roundhouse is a cosy one bedroom cottage for 2, with room for a cot. It is converted from the barn which used to house the horse driven turntable which powered the farm machinery in the adjacent barns. The shower room benefits from a power shower, wc and handbasin. The fitted kitchen has an electric cooker, washer/dryer, microwave, fridge freezer and breakfast bar. The comfortable sitting room has a wood burner, TV, video, DVD player and mini Hi-Fi. It is perfect for couples, or can be used as an annexe to The Treshing Barn or other cottages for extended families on holiday. All the accommodation is on the ground floor and the property is centrally heated.

Specialities

The Shippon can accommodate 7, or occasionally 9 on a sofa bed. This is converted from the farm's stone built shippon with its own private parking and patio area. There is a comfortable lounge with a wood burning stove, TV, Freeview, Video/DVD player, and mini Hi-Fi. A telephone is provided for incoming calls only. The fitted kitchen includes electric cooker, dishwasher, washer/dryer, microwave and fridge-freezer. A conservatory leads from the kitchen to the large separate dining room which has a sofa bed for the occasional use of two people. This area also has an adjoining bathroom. Also downstairs is a twin bedroom with an en-suite bathroom. Upstairs has one double bedroom, a bedroom with three single beds and a family bathroom. All bathrooms comprise bath, shower attachment, wc and hand basin. This spacious property is fully centrally heated.
