Elegant Victorian Country House Offering Beautifully Presented Accommodation In Exmoor National Park
The charming Old Rectory Hotel is set in a beautiful, idyllic location within Exmoor National Park at Martinhoe. Built in the 1800's for the rector of Martinhoe's 11th century church, the hotel offers the perfect accommodation for a relaxing holiday to Exmoor in elegant surroundings. Right on the doorstep of the hotel are the rolling moorlands and ancient woodlands of Exmoor with the stunning North Devon coast just a short walk away. Historical attractions in the area include the 19th Century Arlington Court and the Victorian Gothic mansion of Knighthayes Court.
The hotel's elegant interior houses two comfortable lounges with French doors opening into a conservatory with it's 200 year old vine. There is also a small library on the first floor. The hotel stands in three acres of beautiful gardens rich with wildlife and home to a cascading brook, duck pond and small maze.
Rooms Description
We have eight ensuite bedrooms and all the bathrooms have been recently refurbished. In particular the spacious Heddon Suite has distant views across the sea to Wales. Guest will find flowers, fresh fruit and biscuits in their room on arrival.
Specialities
The Old Rectory has a superb reputation for it's food and wine, sourced from local produce. Dinner can be served by candlelight and afternoon tea and drinks are served in the lounges and garden. We do not accept children under 14 years of age at the hotel and dogs are permitted only in the two ground floor bedrooms.

Directions
Leave M5 at Junction 27 and take A361 towards Barnstaple. Just past South Molton exit, turn right onto A399. At Blackmore Gate turn right onto A39. Turn north off A39 at Martinhoe Cross (Old Rectory sign). Take unclassified road across Martinhoe Common to coastal viewpoint (Old Rectory sign). Bear left to Martinhoe and The Old Rectory is the first building on the right next to the church.
