Soft Rolling Hills - the view from South CoombeSouth Coombe Farm in rural Tiverton offers both country cottages suitable for parties of between two and six and bed and breakfast accommodation of the highest standard. The farm is within easy reach of Exmoor, Dartmoor and the Jurassic coast resorts. The B&B farmhouse is a stunning traditional Devon thatched four hundred years cottage full of real character and beauty. The four country cottages, created from barns that are around three hundred years old, also ooze charm and yet have all the facilities of modern living. All have stunning countryside views. Once a working farm and now a haven for wildlife, South Coombe is surrounded by fifteen acres of land where guests may wander at their leisure. Witheridge village is just 1 mile away and has a general store, post office and newsagents, and two pubs serving excellent food.
Guests benefit from use of our luxurious swimming pool complex, completed in 2006. Facilities include a 10m x 5m indoor swimming pool, a sauna, a games room and a fully equipped gym. Situated on the site of an old Dutch barn, the complex also has an outdoor patio where guests can relax in the open air. Within the lovely old cider orchard there is a children's activity play area with slides, swings and climbing frames. A picnic table is adjacent to the play area so that parents can sit and supervise. Guests with one pet are welcome to holiday at South Coombe, by prior arrangment. We have ample secure space for dogs to run and play without worrying the other animals.
Guests staying in the B&B benefit from their own private entrance to the beautiful thatched farmhouse. The guest accommodation consists of a large double room with adjoining single room, together with an en-suite shower room. Both rooms are furnished to a high standard in pine and both have beamed ceilings. Additional facilities include colour TV with video, radio alarm, tea and coffee-making facilities, mini fridge and seating area. Guests also have their own private garden area complete with seating. We are licensed, and evening meals can be provided with prior notice. Guests will love our hearty Breakfasts which include locally sourced bacon and sausages and eggs from our own free-range rare breed and rescued battery hens.
The four cottages are idyllically set within the grounds and sleep from 2 to 6 guests. Each of the cottages are unique, and have been restored from old farm buildings. All have their own designated garden area with places to sit and barbecue. All our guests are given a warm welcome and served a home-made Devon cream tea on arrival. We can also provide freshly baked organic bread and croissants which we deliver warm to your cottage. Breakfast and evening meals are available in the farmhouse on request.
