The Thorverton Arms is a charming, atmospheric 16th century coaching inn located in the centre of the beautiful village of Thorverton in Devon. We are in the heart of the Devon English countryside and yet only seven miles from Exeter (handy for the University) and eight miles from the local town of Tiverton, making us the perfect traditional Devon inn base from which to explore the north and south Devon coasts, Exmoor and Dartmoor. The Thorverton Arms dates back to 1542, when it first opened as a coaching inn, and retains its character and charm. The bar is cosy and welcoming and boasts an extensive range of drinks, including real Devon cask ales. We are popular with both locals and visitors alike.
Guests can expect superb, traditional home-cooked food at the inn. Our separate, fully licensed award-winning restaurant serves home-made classic English food. All our meat and vegetables are sourced locally, and we offer a large choice of traditionally simple and fresh home-made English food. In winters guests are welcome to relax in front of our real fire and in summer in our large south-facing beer garden. There is ample free car parking available on-site.
