Gay Friendly Accommodation in Devon

Devon's gay scene is there, even if you have to dig a bit deep. Particular Devon gay favourites include the ultimate in seaside holiday extravaganza - Torquay of course. At Torquay there are a selection of gay owned guesthouses, and a warm welcome with a few gay clubs and a number of saunas in hotels. Plymouth and Exeter both have a gay friendly scene, with a number of cafes and bars and a thriving university scene.

The Devon Gay Guide: Torquay, Exeter and Plymouth

Top gay friendly hotspots in Devon, with a selection of gay bars and clubs and a choice of gay guesthouses and gay friendly accommodation can be found in Torquay, and the big Devon cities, both with a good university feel about them too, Exeter and Plymouth. All three of these Devon gay friendly hotspots have a lively nightlife and club scene.

Check out the Meadfoot Inn and Club Ibiza in Torquay, or Bar Uno in Plymouth. Exeter is a bustling cultural centre with lots of gay friendly venues. Check out the Queens Vaults on popular Gandy Street in Exeter, renowned for it's exquisite selection of specialist clothing shops.

Outside these Devon hotspots there's a choice selection of gay friendly guesthouses too and some exclusively gay only naturist B&Bs. Torquay has a scattering of gay owned B&Bs and there's plenty of choice of romantic self-catering cottages around Dartmoor and in the heart of Devon.

Torquay has quite a few gay bars and clubs. For a quiet gay friendly bar check out the Meadfoot Inn, and the two small clubs, Ibiza which is underneath the Ibiza hotel on the harbour front and Rockies which used to be the Double Two club. If you're partial to the camp side of things, then Devon certainly has it. Check out some of Devon's superb seaside resorts with beautiful walks along the coast, and quirky bohemian scenes at Sidmouth, Ilfracombe and Torquay. Torquay is where to head if you're looking for the Devon Nightlife! South Hams and hotspots like Dartmouth and Totnes are superb on the alternative side, with ample selections of vegetarian restaurants, superb specialist shopping and fantastic restaurants. Totnes has a superb bohemian scene.
