Devon Family Adventure Parks
Crealy Adventure Park near Exeter, Devon has family fun at the top of it's list. There's nine adventure rides here, a selection of animals in the Realm of Animals, Bumper Boat rides, log flumes, pirate ships, and rollercoasters, Tidal Waves, Whisky's Wood with park rangers on hand as guides, or how about that Sunflower Maze. A great family fun adventure park ideally close to Exeter and the Devon Coast.
Quaywest Waterpark gives real credence to Paignton as a superb South Devon family holiday favourite. Quaywest is a pretty flash waterpark, with all it's water nicely heated to 80 degrees centigrade. Quaywest Waterpark is right next to Goodrington Beach as well.
Conveniently situated midway between Ilfracombe and beautiful Combe Martin is the family fun packed attraction Watermouth Castle, Watermouth Cove and accompanying family theme park. Super duper family fun to be had here, with a choice of fun attractions including the Castles Treasures exhibitions with it's suits of armour and some quirky Victorian seaside displays including old slot machines and old toys and games.
Welcome to Bideford, on the North Devon coast - the land of family fun adventure playgrounds! There are two popular theme parks in the area, The Big Sheep and The Milky Way! Devon Boat Trips
Boat trips depart from Exmouth Marina, and there's a choice few more to choose from. How about a Carnival Cruise with boat trips to local carnivals taking place in the summer months, including Teignmouth Carnival in July, Dawlish Carnival in August and Topsham Carnival also in August. Alternatively go further afield and take a day trip to Torquay or Sidmouth. For a leisurely cruice of the River Exe and Exe Estuary choose their Round Robin Tour, which takes you 8 miles up the River Exe, talking in superb views of Exe Estuary hotspots like Powderham Castle, Lympstone, and Starcross.

There are several ferry companies operating boat trips out to Dartmouth and Totnes as well. Brixham Belle Cruises on Tel: + 44 (0)1803 528555 is one of the most popular operators on the English Riviera offering a selection of day and evening themed cruises, plus the usual day trips to Dartmouth, departing from Torquay at 11am and Brixham from 11.30am. Boat trips, hopping from Torquay, to Paignton to Brixham are a great way to explore the English Riviera coastline, and facilities such as bars, cafes, sun dect areas and commentary on the area are all included in the trips. River Dart Outdoor Watersports test
The River Dart, and the popular holiday village, River Dart Adventures based in Holne Park are a key attraction for families particularly in South East Dartmoor. River Dart Adventures (check their weblink to the right) offer a choice of waterspots and landbased sports including open canoeing, abseiling, and climbing. The complex has some superb adventure playgrounds with activities over water, and you can hook into group outdoor activities, all supervised by qualified instructors.
Facilities at River Dart Adventures are superb for families, including outdoor adventure playgrounds with pirate ships!, lakes and walks, a café bar and Restaurant.

Paignton & Torquay Family Holidays
Paignton is most definitely a Devon family holiday hotspot with a choice of family entertainment including superb sandy beaches, a large waterpark, a charming steam railway featuring Thomas the Tank Engine, and a lively seafront, lots of great shops in Paignton town centre, the obligatory seaside pier and holiday parks and a range of Devon Accommodation choices. Paignton Zoo is rather popular as well.
